{LET'S GIVE THEM SOMETHING TO TALK ABOUT}

source: unknown
We all know what makes us comfortable living in our homes. But when preparing a home to go on the market, belongings and arrangement should change a bit. While on a recent get-a-away with a couple of great friends, who's home could rival any interior design product, the husband said it better than I'd ever heard before: "Every home needs something to talk about." I couldn't agree more. When I think of how my clients refer to homes they've seen and ruled out, usually it's "the house that smells like cat urine" or "the house with the broken window". Ironically, it goes both ways. Setting a focal point, something different and unexpected, not only gives buyers something to remember but it almost always helps a room to photograph at it's best. So the next time you are arranging a room, try simplifying by giving each space something to talk about.

A Sun Room Tea

Hello everyone,
It was a sunny but still cool day here today -the perfect day to enjoy a little quiet time in the sunroom.
The wicker rocker got a fresh coat of paint and I made a new rosebud pillow to go on it.
I love the pink, green and white mix in this hydrangea.
Some sugar coolies on a vintage plate.
More vintage china.
 A pretty bouquet.
More dainty rosebuds.

Sweet little fairies sitting on the windowsill.

Well ,it was nice to relax in the sun room for a  tea break on a sunny day-don't you think?

My daughter and I just got home from the gym- the rush is on to make sure I fit back into my summer clothes before the weather warms up!!! I always love getting out my summer clothes after the more drab colors of winter.

Today,I am joining Between Naps on the Porch for Tablescape Thursday , Feathered Nest Friday at French Country Cottage and Show and Tell at My Romantic Home.

Tea Time

Hello everyone,
After a few beautiful sunny warm days last week we are back to winter here today. Schools and some businesses are shut down for the day as we have high winds and some blowing snow. So,it is a good day to snuggle in and enjoy a nice afternoon tea break.
I couldn't resist this pretty teacup when I saw it at a second hand shop a few weeks ago. It matched the plate on the bottom of the 3 tiered plate stand my husband made for me.Help yourself to the sugar cookies, cranberry muffins or a pecan butterball.

A pretty bouquet makes the day a little brighter.

Carnations and snapdragons
Well, I hope this little afternoon tea is a bright spot in your day!

I am joining Rose Chintz Cottage for Tea Time Tuesday again.

Thank you for stopping by and thank you to all who left such nice comments on our bedroom makeover in the past few days.

Take care,
Carolyn

Details

Hello Everyone,
I hope you enjoyed your weekend. We had a family birthday party at our house as two of our sons celebrate their birthday on Tuesday.
I made a little change in our bedroom- this chair was in our library before and I thought it would look good here and the chaise that used to be here is now by the fireplace in the library. The brass on the fireplace got it's coat of black paint-looks so much better.

This is the bath off our bedroom and I like how it flows with the new color. The bathtub is an old cast iron tub.

I love the little details in a room.

A vignette in our bedroom

This little sunroom is off our bathroom.

Well, just a few little details from our bedroom and bath.

I am joining the house of roses for Show Off your Cottage Monday.

Happy Monday!

Carolyn
